THE KEY IDEA

Access to information and permission to republish it are separate questions.

01

Make record status clear

A profile uses structured fields for search, filtering and source documentation. Each material claim requires a supporting record. Missing information should remain visible, and operator submissions enter an unverified intake workflow.

02

Attach provenance at the field level

A proposed live record would store the originating publisher, exact source, access time, record reference, applicable period, usage basis and review status for each material field. A single source label on an entire profile is insufficient when platform details, fee schedules and service claims come from different documents.

03

Check the basis for reuse

Future integrations would require an appropriate license, permission or other documented lawful basis for the intended use. A publicly accessible page is not automatically a reusable dataset. The proposed intake process would record attribution requirements, storage limits, update terms and any restrictions before importing content.

Official sources linked here provide research context. This website does not imply that those authorities supply, license or endorse the catalog.

04

Make changes visible

The proposed data lifecycle would retain source versions, identify superseded observations and flag conflicts for review. A failed refresh would change the freshness status rather than silently repeat an old fact as new. Personal information and sensitive attachments would need a purpose, access controls and retention rules before collection.

Provenance fields and review states define how source information should be documented before publication.

TAKE IT WITH YOU

Research checklist

  • Record the research status of every submission.
  • Record provenance for each material field.
  • Confirm the usage basis before importing data.
  • Preserve dates, versions and conflicting observations.
  • Show stale or unavailable data honestly.

A research aid. Completing this list does not certify a provider or remove financial risk.
