An activation condition and an execution result are different parts of an order.
Identify the intended action
Begin with the action being researched: a new order, a modification or a close instruction. Record the platform and device. Locate its current order documentation before relying on an icon or a label that looks familiar.
Distinguish the order types
Read how market, limit, stop and stop-limit instructions are defined by the platform. In cTrader, the stop and stop-limit types activate different kinds of instruction. Treat the documented fill conditions and the activation conditions as separate questions.
Review the whole ticket
Check the symbol, direction, volume units, prices and expiry where relevant. Read how pending instructions are cancelled or amended. Keep saved defaults and selected-account settings visible in the review rather than assuming that every new ticket begins empty.
Retain the resulting record
Read the acknowledgement and current status after an instruction. Keep the order reference, relevant time and any error message when researching an unexpected result. Do not infer an execution-quality finding from an isolated screenshot.
Research checklist
- Identify whether the action creates, modifies or closes an instruction.
- Read the platform’s order-type definitions.
- Review volume, price and expiry fields.
- Find pending-order cancellation instructions.
- Keep the acknowledgement and reference number.
