The FactFX result is a composite of external information and opinion. It is not independent broker testing or certification.
Two distinct inputs
FactFX policy version 2.2 uses a displayed maximum of 100 throughout the site. Existing reference-plus-FactFX composites retain their recorded 50:50 weighting and numerical totals without rescaling.
Most external inputs concern brand/group trust and regulation. An overall product-review input is identified separately in the profile; it is a broader opinion, not a regulatory subscore. Normalization does not make different review subjects identical. Neither type establishes current authorisation, local account eligibility, observed trading costs or successful withdrawals. FactFX does not present external investigations or testing as its own.
Calculate the composite
All visitor-facing totals have a maximum of 100. Previously recorded numerical composites and their calculation are preserved rather than rescaled. The five category contributions each have a 20-point cap and sum exactly to the displayed total. The final result is a FactFX assessment, not the original external reference; changing the displayed maximum does not constitute a new evaluation.
A verified reference number and a reasoned FactFX assessment are required. A missing reference, FactFX assessment or rationale leaves the overall score pending. Missing values are not fabricated, replaced with zero or inferred from a similar broker. Values are not adjusted to fit a target range or close a gap with another rating.
Keep dates and scope visible
The catalog combines dated reference snapshots and clearly identified archived records. Every profile identifies its reference date and historical status. A dated snapshot is not a live feed; an archived value is not described as current.
Each broker profile retains its selected company, website edition and account scope. A brand or group reference does not extend one company’s licence to another offering. Independently retrieved official records, provider-published terms and opinions remain distinct. A blocked or incomplete register check stays unresolved rather than being treated as verified authorisation or proof of no licence.
Identify the FactFX contribution
FactFX assessment is worth 50% of the result. Its common offering rubric allocates 30 of 100 points to platforms, devices and tools; 25 to account and product choices; 25 to pricing and account models; and 20 to support, learning and research. Awarded values sum to our assessment out of 100, with individual published reasons. These allocations belong inside the FactFX half, not alongside the two overall weights.
Platforms are assessed for documented interfaces, device coverage, charting, orders and useful tools. Account and product choices are considered within the offering’s stated market. A focused forex offering is not automatically inferior to a multi-asset one, and a capable single platform is not automatically inferior to several platform names.
Pricing and account-model points consider structures, options and applicable terms rather than claiming measured cheapness. Support, learning and research points concern documented help channels, educational material and research resources. The assessment concerns the offering, not our ability to retrieve a register record or representative spread average; a blocked lookup or unavailable average is not itself a deduction. Outstanding factual checks remain unresolved.
No fixed assessment range is imposed. An assessment of 80 contributes 40/50 framework points. Existing final totals are retained on the current 100-point display. The administrator can save a subjective override with a written reason. It replaces the initial judgement and retains its rationale. An opinion does not resolve missing reference evidence or verify an outstanding broker fact. Commercial relationships are not a basis for hidden score increases.
Our assessment judges documented offering features. It is not a hands-on execution, withdrawal, support or platform-performance test.
Keep profile facts separate from the rating
Spreads, commissions, account choices, platform features and deposit-bonus conditions remain separately recorded profile information. Documented offering features inform the FactFX assessment, while headline spreads and bonus percentages receive no separate automatic points. Bonus eligibility, credit type, caps, expiry and withdrawal terms require their own factual context. An unknown offer is not labelled as absent.
A cost comparison requires a representative average EUR/USD spread and round-trip commission for the same account, trade size, currency and period. A minimum or ‘from zero’ spread is not that average; missing commission is not zero. An incomplete comparison stays unresolved even when a composite rating is available.
FactFX does not claim hands-on execution, withdrawal, support, usability, accessibility, speed or reliability tests. A composite rating does not complete those checks. Neither a listing nor its rating is regulatory certification, a guarantee of safety, a statement of local eligibility or a prediction of future returns.
Dated reference records, reasons, factual limitations and review status support a correction process. Material changes should retain the affected scope, date and explanation rather than silently rewriting the evidence.
Research checklist
- Use a verified reference number within its recorded scope.
- Keep reference dates and any historical status visible.
- Retain the FactFX assessment value and individual written reason.
- Apply the 30 / 25 / 25 / 20 offering rubric inside the FactFX half.
- Apply the 50% / 50% formula and round the final result once.
- Leave the total pending when a required input is missing.
- Keep account facts and unresolved checks separate from the rating.
- Retain reasons and dates for material corrections.
